This antibody was developed using glutathione (GSH)-KLH conjugates and affinity purified with antigen-specific affinity chromatography. The antibody could be utilized for detection and quantization of reduced (GSH) and oxidized (GSSG) glutathione as well as glutathionylated proteins and peptides.

Scientific Description

Glutathione is a tripeptide. It contains an unusual peptide linkage between the amine group of cysteine and the carboxyl group of the glutamate side chain. Glutathione, an antioxidant, protects cells from toxins such as free radicals. Glutathione can also modify proteins via disulfide bonds. Redox proteomics of glutathionylated proteins in oxidatively stressed human T lymphocytes have been reported.

Storage & Stability

Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C. For extended storage, store product at –20ºC. Expiration date is three years from date of shipping if properly stored.
